Nestled in the heart of Springfield, Missouri, Greek Belly is a vibrant culinary gem that brings the authentic flavors of Greece, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East straight to your plate. This cozy yet lively restaurant excels at delivering a diverse array of richly seasoned dishes that celebrate the traditions and bold tastes of European and Mediterranean cuisine.
From the moment you sit down, the intoxicating aromas of freshly chargrilled meats and fragrant herbs transport you to the sun-soaked Mediterranean coast. The menu is a delightful exploration of textures and flavors — whether you crave the tender Rotisserie Pork Gyro wrapped in warm pita, bursting with savory tzatziki and crisp onion, or the irresistible Spanakopita, with its buttery layers of flaky phyllo enveloping a spinach and feta filling, every bite tells a delicious story. For those seeking a lighter, yet satisfying option, the City Greek Salad bursts with garden-fresh produce, olives, and creamy feta, perfectly dressed with extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar.
Greek Belly’s specialty platters such as the Gyros Platter offer generous portions of Sliced Rotisserie Pork or Chicken, paired alongside flavorful accompaniments like soft pita bread and refreshing tzatziki. Vegetarians will appreciate the thoughtful vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, such as the famed Garden Pita—a crisp salad pita wrap laced with spicy feta dip and stacked with crispy fries—or the hearty Yigandes Platter, featuring giant Greek beans slow-baked in a rich tomato vegetable sauce. These dishes showcase the kitchen’s commitment to robust, authentic flavor profiles made with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
The restaurant’s dedication to tradition doesn’t stop with entrées — desserts like the Baklava Ice Cream perfectly balance the crunch of flaky pastry with the creaminess of chilled sweetness, leaving a lingering reminder of Greece’s indulgent side. And if you find yourself craving comfort, the Lentil Soup—a vegan-friendly, savory bowl brimming with tomato, carrot, celery, and onion—offers warmth and nourishment with every spoonful.
Guests repeatedly praise Greek Belly’s welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. Courtney Vaughn raves about the “amazing flavors” found in their happy hour specials, while Amy delights in the Prometheus Feast and describes the spot as “some of the BEST” Greek food they’ve encountered. Server Tyler, recognized for his friendly and prompt service, adds to the charm of this tiny yet immensely satisfying eatery, according to Kristen Schwartze.
This intimate restaurant may be small in size, but it overdelivers in character and culinary excellence. Whether you’re a longtime lover of Greek cuisine or eager to explore the vibrant Mediterranean palette, Greek Belly promises an experience that’s far from average — from smoky chargrilled lamb skewers to perfectly seasoned fries and the tang of spicy feta dips, every dish is thoughtfully crafted to enchant your palate.
For anyone seeking an authentic taste of Greece in Springfield, Greek Belly is a must-visit destination where every meal feels like a warm welcome and every bite is a celebration.

New review: when I tip on a togo order at least make sure a pregnant woman in the heat has a fork! I love this place and especially their happy hour food! This time I got the spicy feta and eggplant dips with my chicken skewer and veggies! Amazing flavors!
Greek food is one of my most favorite meals out there. The Belly has some of the BEST! Wanting to try as many dishes as possible, we ordered the Prometheus Feast with (a must have) spanikopita. It was all fabulous. When I find a place I adore, I always ask if I can buy a shirt. Beg, if they only offer them to employees... sometimes I get lucky and score one!
AMAZING food, wonderful service, and great prices! This is a must try in Springfield, especially if you like Greek food. The pumpkin pie baklava was delicious. Our server Tyler was attentive and friendly, the other staff were also helpful and welcoming. Tiny shop that packs a phenomenal experience!
I have been here twice. The first time, I was extremely underwhelmed by what I got. Not because the food wasn't good, but because I had heard all the hype and was expecting something that would be life-changing and was met with average Greek food. HOWEVER, I decided to give this another try. The second time, I tried the Prometheus feast and, boy oh boy, was that amazing!! The beef was fantastic, the sausage was great, the lamb was to die for! You also get a tzatziki and some kind of tomato sauce which were both soooo good. I understand the hype now. Totally worth it if you're up for trying something new. The atmosphere is great and the service was great too, but the food made it all more than worth it.
First time visiting Greek Belly, highly recommend! Our server was wonderful, restaurant is cute, and the food was fantastic! Tried the Atlantis Gyro and the flavor combo was perfection. Spicy, sweet, savory…all the things you want in a well rounded entree. Fries were crispy, well seasoned and delicious.
I could not have been more thrilled having Greek Belly cater my wedding back in October!! The communication and service was incredible and truly thoughtful. We added hors d’oeuvres to be passed during our cocktail hour and they were absolutely delicious. Couldn’t have been more happy. My husband and I live in NY and would come back to Springfield and put our trust in this establishment again and again. 10/10
Update. Im changing my rating from 3 to a 5. Thank you John for reaching out personally on this matter, and with how quickly you corrected it. While I would still caution about the delivery service, I have come to understand that what occurred was not the fault of the store. I was giving a full refund which included the driver tip (the tip I didnt expect back) and an unexpected gift card as an apology. The actions taking by John (the owner) in correcting this in my opinion speaks volumes to the character of greek belly and i am looking forward to the next time I can make it in.thank you Orginal review (for context and awareness) I have had greek belly several times and love their food. It is always delicious. However, this last time i order delivery and was extremely disappointed. First i never actually got my food. When I called the store they sent me to a third party. After tring to resolve the issue to get my food I ended up canceling the order after 3 hrs. The third party then told me to contact the store to inform them that I would need my refund. The the store claims they refunded my money but after waiting 8 business days and still not getting it I believe that they have failed to actually refund my money.
we went here for lunch today. i had been looking forward to some delicious greek food and this is the place that my office manager loves to go. we ordered and shared dolmades (very yummy), falafel ( delicious). My boss got chicken soulvaki and I got the Hercules gyro with gluten free pita and subbed the fries for extra lettuce. The office manager got pork soulvaki (which she has had many times and is her favorite) however, for some reason this time the meat was rare and not fully cooked. we informed the waitress who had the manager on duty come over. we also informed (and showed) her that the meat on one of the skewers was straight up fat with no meat on it (photo attached). The manager, somewhat snarkily replied that they were remaking it, and then she took the 2 skewers back to the kitchen. My office manager thought that they brought back the same skewers just cooked a bit longer, UNFORTUNATELY, alot of the 'meat' on the skewers were mostly just fat that caused a rancid aftertaste. My office manager said that this was the first time this had ever happened. the coleslaw was also too salty for both of the others, but since i need extra salt in my diet i ate it for them. **Edit** I plan on going back because I was happy with my GF gyro. Just sad and jealous of those who can eat the baklava, it looks delicious.
